The biggest downside of military housing is moving out of it- or conversely into it-
because, you see, after some poor soul has done all of the in order not to be fined a ridiculous amount of money ( you in every house you have lived in)- you NEVER seem to move into that particular house- you move into one that seems to have been lived in by aborigines with a yukk fetish.

This is off post housing!!!
I'm mostly done--just have to mop and vacuum.
Actually, now that they've privatized most military housing, the cleaning isn't so bad. Most posts have "broom swept" move outs and then they pay a cleaning crew.

I have the final move out inspection this morning. Even though the house is 20 times cleaner than when we moved in, and even though we upgraded things (with land lady's permission but at OUR expense--like ceiling fans, newly tiled bathroom counter, new bathroom hardware and lights...), I KNOW she'll find some reason to keep the deposit. She's just that way. I've already kissed it goodbye.
